Digitálne zručnosti pre zelenú budúcnosť Slovenska

Many managers in Slovakia still approach digital transformation with caution, which slows down the adoption of innovation and transformational change in both businesses and the public sector. Without targeted support and skills development for decision-makers and leaders, it is difficult to successfully manage the changes brought about by new technologies, automation, and artificial intelligence. At the same time, digital transformation is closely linked to the green transition, as modern digital solutions can help organisations operate more efficiently, sustainably, and in a more environmentally responsible manner, while also supporting the development of clean technologies and green jobs.
The national project „Digitálne zručnosti pre zelenú budúcnosť Slovenska“ (Digitálna budúcnosť) was established in response to these challenges. Its objective is to improve the digital and green skills of managers and decision-makers in the business sector, local governments, and public administration across Slovakia. The project actively raises awareness of the twin transition—digital and green—through expert conferences, seminars, and educational activities that provide practical examples, discussions, and concrete recommendations for organisations.
A key output of the project is the development of Digital and Green Skills Reference Frameworks, which define skill levels for selected occupations and help organisations and individuals better understand the competencies required for the modern labour market. Building upon these frameworks, the project has introduced the FutureSkills Lab, a diagnostic tool that enables individuals to objectively assess their digital and green skills and gain insights into their strengths, development needs, and opportunities for further growth. The project aims to contribute to the enhancement of digital and green skills related to occupations connected to the SK RIS3 2021+ domains, particularly:

Domain 1 – Innovative Industry for the 21st Century
Domain 3 – Digital Transformation of Slovakia

At the same time, the project addresses skill requirements emerging from industrial and green transformation through systematic awareness-raising activities, skills diagnostics, and initiatives that strengthen people’s readiness for the future challenges of work.
